The Event Before The BIG Event ( GC1Q10W)
Submitted by prntr1 on Tue, 04/21/2009 - 07:03Let’s all meet to discuss GeoWoodstock VII (GC1CG5G) in wonderful downtown Bell Buckle, Tennessee from 6:00 p.m. till 7:30p.m.. We can discuss who is going, where we are all staying, what we are taking, what we will see, and where we will meet at GWSVII. If you have any TBs to send to the Big Show and you are not planningto attend to go up, bring them by and someone will take them for you. While we are all enjoying the camaraderie of planning our assault on Tennessee we can watch people find the nearby cache.

A Cache and a 2 TBs I will never get.
Submitted by apt101 on Tue, 04/14/2009 - 17:38I say never, but who knows. This man whose ID is Lord British has one cache he has placed and two travel bugs he has dropped off and I think you have to be a special person or have a certain profession to get to them.
The cache is called Randbow Hydrothermal Vents. Evidentally as he was jaunting around in a Mir Russian Submersble he dropped this cache and one travel bug (TB31F1) off on the sea floor 2300 meters down and 3171 miles from my home coordinates.

Submitted by apt101 on Fri, 04/03/2009 - 08:122nd Ghost River Float Trip & CITO - GC1NCNY
Submitted by ronbo on Mon, 03/30/2009 - 14:20This event is North of Holly Springs just across the MS state line into TN. We will meet at Bateman Bridge at 9:30am. Once gathered, we will caravan to the put-in where Lagrange Road crosses the Wolf. Please call Mark and Don at Ghost River Rentals (901-485-1220) soon if you plan to rent a canoe or kayak. Don't leave it to the last minute or you may find yourself boatless. It's OK to bring your own boat. There is no requirement to rent a boat for the float. I have listed GRR's info just so you will know where to get a boat.

Website updates and fixes
Submitted by apt101 on Tue, 03/24/2009 - 15:45
During luch today I took the time to make some changes to the site. First of I changed a few things on the backend with the database that should allow faster access to the site. Not that the site is really that slow or that we have that much traffic right now. I just want to push it as much as I can up front so that we are ready for when the crowds come.
Next I updated a few modules such as the events and weblinks. There were a few bugs and interface issues that neede to be worked out and submissions for those should go a lot smoother for everyone.
Third, I have activated Twitter notifications. If you are following MADcachers on twitter, when site blogs, stories and new polls are posted you will be notified.
In general there were a few bug fixes in other places and a few interface changes. You will notice a few new menu items on the left and top menu systems as well as some new information blanks in the "My Account" area.
I would like to say thank you to everyone that is helping me in this process. It is very difficult to dupllicate and find bugs on a site. It is nice to have a few helping hands.
If you see anything that you think needs improvement or and bugs floating around please let me know. I will get to them as quickly as possible and review what I can. The way you submit them is through the feedback button that appears on every page at the bottom right. Click there and type away.
Thanks again.
